Well, this blog post wasn't planned, but that’s perfectly fine; the purpose of this blog is to highlight all of life's adventures along the way. Tonight was something special. Due to some very rare conditions, we were able to see the Northern Lights from our city in Alabama! I came across an article early in the morning and somewhat dismissed it. However, later in the evening, I saw some pictures on social media capturing the lights right here in my city! So, at 10 p.m., I hopped on our golf cart and began searching for a spot to observe the lights.

My first stop was a development area for a new neighborhood—a great spot since there were hardly any streetlights. There was just one downside: lots of people. This meant the headlights of cars occasionally interrupted potential photo opportunities. On the bright side (no pun intended), it was refreshing to see so many people coming together, simply appreciating the beauty of God's creation! I also ran into my good friend Blake while gazing at the lights; it turns out great minds do think alike! We chatted, but more importantly, we enjoyed the Northern Lights here in Alabama! It's pretty wild to hear those words in the same sentence.

After talking with Blake, I continued on, determined to find the "money shot." I parked the golf cart outside a walking trail and made my way through it. It was very dark, and I was the only one out there; it seemed perfect. Yet, despite my efforts, my second spot was not successful. The third and final spot was at the other end of the trail, by the Tennessee River. Again, it was just me, and it was pitch-black. It took a few tries, but I finally captured what I consider to be the "money shot."

Tonight was awesome—it was one of those nights where I was able to slow down and appreciate a great moment. This is always my goal: to appreciate the little things in life, along the way.
