Hello, everyone! I’m so excited to share another update with you! It’s hard to believe that November is already here; time is flying by! I’ve been here in Kenya for the last two months, and it’s been nothing short of life-changing. God has been so faithful to the ministry here, and He’s also been faithful in refining and molding me throughout this journey.
The past two weeks have been a lot of fun. We spent more time training for children’s ministry and connecting with pastors at fellowship meetings. Personally, spending time with the pastors has been one of my favorite parts of this experience. God has used these moments to speak into my life, and He’s blessed me through the positive influence of these men.
Two Sundays ago, I was given the incredible opportunity to teach at church! I spoke about the transforming power of God’s Word in our lives, how when we surrender and seek Him through His Word, we are changed. It was a meaningful time, though not by my own strength—someone like me needs the Spirit of God to guide every word!
We also bid farewell to the Hudsons, who were here serving alongside me. It was a bittersweet moment because I didn’t want them to leave, but I’m glad they’re home with their family and church now. The Hudsons led the children’s ministry at Decatur Baptist Church when I was young, so they’ve influenced my life since then. It’s amazing to see how God brought us together again, this time on the mission field! I’m so grateful for their continued impact on my life. From children’s ministry to serving here in Kenya—it’s proof of God’s incredible story-writing!
A few days after the Hudsons left, we visited a Bible school in Kitale. The students were practicing various ministry skills that day, so when it was time for the baptism demonstrations, I became the “practice” subject! It was a great day, and I walked away with new insights into the valuable work these Bible schools do.
With November here, it’s graduation season for the Bible schools, and this week marked the first ceremony. It was a joyful time, celebrating the graduates who’ve worked hard for years. The past two weeks have been full, and I’m looking forward to the month ahead.
I also have a special announcement! My interview with Dr. Paul Chitwood, President of the International Mission Board, is now out! God faithfully provided the chance for this conversation, and I’m so grateful to Dr. Chitwood for his time. Click the link below to watch or listen—I encourage you to check it out!
